The artist Jean Sindelar needs little introduction to lovers of art in Australia. His paintings in both sensitive watercolors and richly glazed oils, are represented in major collections, galleries and corporations both in this country and overseas. Jean Sindelar is particularly notable for his colourful and superbly detailed studies of majestic birds, spirited cats of the wild, rain forests and especially his interpretations of the sometimes bleak but always beautiful granite landscapes of outback NSW and Qld. His sensitivity and artistic skill combined with his love of natural beauty make Jean Sindelar an artist of extraordinary talent and diversity. His paintings reflect exquisite detail combined with a masters touch in technique, application and composition. While many gifted painters have come out of Australia, the works of Jean Sindelar reflect bold, sincere and deeply sensitive elements of his subject and it's integrity. A powerful and stoic figure, a contemporary street scene, ultimately regenerative scenes of rain forests and Kakadu, all combine in a masterful focus on the artist and his unique ability. Jean Sindelar, who was born in Liege, Belgium in 1941 studied at the famous Flemish Academy of Fine Art, is a member of the Australian Guild of Realists. He has had sell out exhibitions in Osaka and Boston in recent years and his paintings are in collections in the USA, Saudi Arabia, Europe and throughout Australia.
